Disclosures & complaints

Disclosing or reporting something that has happened to yourself or others can be a challenging task. It is important to know that there are a number of people and services in place to help and support you through this, below are a number of providers that are trained and can help you through this process.

  • New Zealand Police are one platform you can contact via phoning 111. This webpage [http://www.police.govt.nz/advice/sexual-assault/what-can-i-do-if-i-have-been-sexually-assaulted] provides information on what to do if you have been sexually assaulted and also discusses the process of what happens when you contact the police.
     

  • Rape Prevention Education, 2011. This webpage provides information on how to lay a complaint or disclose a sexual abuse/harassment situation and also discusses points of self-care.  [http://rpe.co.nz/get-help/reporting-to-police/]
     

  • A number of support services are specifically designed to help those who have experienced sexual abuse/harassment and can provide you with support.
